Building a building requires work that takes several months. With the normal variation of the seasons, it is ideal to provide solutions to protect the works in progress in case of rain, flood or snow cover.

Building professionals who have already started their construction projects in the fall must find a reliable means of protection for their works so that they can easily resume in the spring.

However, for urgent work, workers are not necessarily allowed to leave the place and require in return a secure shelter. Also, the use of winter tarps seems to be a nice option to avoid the harm caused by unpredictable natural events. Especially since climate change often reserves surprises that can cause considerable losses on large machines, materials, tools, etc.

Winter covers for optimal protection of construction sites in winter

There are indeed tarps capable of meeting different expectations. On the market, it is not uncommon to find them in different categories. However, they all have one thing in common: great resistance to tearing. In fact, good manufacturers are supposed to follow a standard that provides for a minimum thickness of 2 mm.

As a result, this type of cover provides optimal protection for both construction materials and workers as it is used to build a shelter.

In addition, tarpaulins receive all kinds of treatments during their manufacture. First of all, there are those that aim to solidify and those that aim to facilitate installation. These include hot air welds and stainless steel eyelets. The latter are installed at regular intervals around the perimeter. Also, they allow to easily close the space to be covered with the help of a cable.

On the other hand, tarpaulins are also an essential element to protect against exposure to light. As they are 100% opaque, they prevent the equipment they cover from having to be exposed to intense sunlight. Here, it is well to specify that the construction tarpaulins all follow an anti-ultraviolet treatment, whatever their dimensions and colors. In addition, they can withstand a temperature between -28°C and +70°C. So there is something to guard against the negative effects of snow!

Choose a tarp to protect tools, large machines, materials

Have you decided to buy a tarpaulin to protect your construction sites in winter? Well, you have chosen the right solution. However, you just have to adapt it to the reality of the place where you work. Anyway, it is always ideal to choose the one that displays good quality from the technical point of view. Not forgetting to consider the price.

Everyone can have their own criteria when buying a winter tarpaulin. These vary according to needs and whether there is a specific desire or not. If we have to work on a large site, what prevents us from acquiring a larger one?

Indeed, it would be impossible to find a single tarpaulin to cover the entire place that preserves materials and construction machinery. This requires assembly. Fortunately, given the ease provided by manufacturers for their combination, they can be easily reattached. And vice versa, opting for a smaller variant is more advantageous for a small space. This avoids cluttering the place and wasting money. The choice of strength and consistency depends on the environment in which the objects to be protected are to be placed. If the latter are for example in the open air, it would be more rational to choose models more resistant to tearing, weather and especially snow.

As for the price, it depends on the dimensions and the material from which the tarpaulin was made. Indeed, the price per m² of winter covers turns between 2 € and 15 €. Their consistency, expressed in gr/ m², also has an impact on the price. This can be 80g/m², 150 g/m², 250g/m², 400g/m², 680g/m² or 900g/m². Finally, we must not neglect the material of manufacture, because products that are made of PVC will not have the same price as those that were made from HDPE (high density reinforced polyethylene). It should be noted that there are also plastic HDPE winter covers.

Where can I find my winter cover?

In this time of the 21st century, we no longer need to break our heads to find a winter tarpaulin adapted to the requirements of the construction site. On the internet, there are e-commerce sites that offer different sizes and colors. Whether you are an entrepreneur or a building company, or even an individual, you have an infinite possibility of choice before you. There are many promotional offers offering winter covers at a cheap price on the web. All the more to say that this type of equipment attracts attention thanks to the protective capacity that it offers to objects deposited in construction sites during the winter. In addition, there are also suppliers who design custom winter covers. Thus, in the event that we want to acquire for our specific needs, in other words, custom tarpaulins, the web will give us the opportunity to easily find the right supplier.
